very interesting. i'd read recently that some US firm is making large quantities of oil from algae, and that the two biggest shipping fllets in the world, the US navy and Maersk, where trialling the use of this oil in place of their low grade, highly polluting, 'bunker fuel'.
I think shipping accounts for 4% of the world's fossil fuel use.
have you got any links on how to make this diesel from homegrown algae?

Hi Cye,
It sounds like you know more about it than me, I have heard of it but little more, I read the thing on instructables because I get a mailing from them every few days and it had a cool picture on it that looked like some weird powersource from a flying saucer, so I clicked through and here we are. If you are interested in weird and interesting things of all sorts you should sign up for their newsletter, its amazing what some people do for fun.
