This is the pencil sketch of Dutch John's DJ3 (Dinifier) gasifier for his genny.
Extracted from the mini gasifier's page of woodgas.nl
Why am I posting these up? New Year's resolution is to build one of these gasifiers, & the best place to start is with someone who has done so already, i.e., Dutch John. Either his DJ3 'Dinifier' gasifier or his smaller 'Tiny' lawnmower gasifier seem to be on the right scale, not sure yet which one of these two designs to build.
Unfortunately, whilst Youtube is full of footage of miniature gasifiers but we really have no idea how many of these are tarring up the inlet valves of the engines they are powering. Furthertmore, rarely are sufficient details of how these have been constructed shown on Youtube. Dutch John however has been running these for ages and knows how they work, he is well respected on the various gasifier forums and he has provided a great deal of detail on his site on his gasifier designs, so for me, studying his work seems like a good starting point.
There are of course other reliable folks making and supplying gasifier kits and supporting a network of gasifier experimenters. E.g., GEK kit (Gasifiers experimenters kit from Allpowerlabs), but the GEK gasifier is far too big for running a tiny generator. Victory Gasworks is another manufacturer, but the latter are high spec expensive woodgas generators for big engines.
Now, back to Dutch John....
There are various photographs of two different mini gasifiers up on the mini gasifier page of Dutch John's site, some of the DJ3 and some of the 'Tiny' lawnmower model. For me it's not easy to tell which photos relate to the DJ3 'Dinifier' and which relate to the Tiny gasifier.
i'll start off by posting up the pics on this particular thread of those components that i think relates to the DJ3. If I've got it wrong please let me know.
