Old idea , bin round for decades did you know that you will lose ar least 30% of the timber just converting it ! By the time its its actualy used and in a product , table , chair it can be over 50% waste Need to cut (split) without waste , same way venner is made

....and musical instruments. Old ideas aren't always bad. I agree with you but am at a loss as how to split a whole tree into planks. Even if it was possible/easy the grain will run, weaving and twisting its own way, perhaps producing more waste than sawing by the time you have useful boards. Just a thought.
