I was looking about that simplicitycollective.com website and I found a lecture on HD Thoreau. For those who don't know, HD Thoreau spent two years living a very simple life in a forest in Massachusetts. He started in 1845 and built a cabin beside Walden pond. He wrote a book about his time there. The book is called Walden and while it documents his day to day activities it is much more philosophy than a handbook. It is one of the most influencial books I have ever read but as with all such things the details have become defocused with passing time, leaving only a feeling. This lecture brought much of it back and into sharper focus than ever. It is a 50meg mp3 file and 45mins of listening but I could not recommend it more highly, not least because it is more pertinent than ever. simplicitycollective.com/just-enough-is-plenty-thoreaus-alternative-economics-audio-lecture-and-e-book
